It’s been a minute since I updated, which I realized when two people in the same week gently reminded me that it might be a good idea to change the ‘preorder’ link for Lady Eve to ‘buy now’ given that the book has been out for eight months. It has also picked up a couple of accolades, including being named as a Best Romance Novel of the Year in the New York Times and a Best LGBTQ Romance Novel of the Year in the Washington Post, which is very exciting news for my parents who now get nice clippings to put on the refrigerator.
In other Lady Eve-related news, I will be in NYC in a few weeks to do a reading from the book as part of the Fantastic Fiction at KGB series. The reading will be at KGB Bar in the East Village, on Wednesday, February 12th, at … 7, I think? Doors open at 6:30, anyway, so that’s probably the time to be there if you are interested in going. Hope to see some of you there!
But personally, I think the most exciting piece of recent news I’ve got is that Emily Tesh and I have started a podcast project! It’s called Eight Days of Diana Wynne Jones and we have just wrapped our first season, in which we read all of Diana Wynne Jones’ books of the seventies in chronological order. Next up: the eighties, which includes such notable books as the Homeward Bounders (my favorite DWJ), Fire and Hemlock (DWJ’s favorite DWJ) and Howl’s Moving Castle (the world’s favorite DWJ). If this sounds like your jam, you can listen to us on Apple Podcasts or Spotify or through any other podcast app. We’re on hiatus now while we record season two, but new episodes will be going up sometime in May and I promise I will indeed try to do better at remembering to update this site about it.
